class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>Alterations of the visual fields<\/strong> or <b>campimetric defect<\/b> may be due to lesions of the retina, optic nerves, chiasm, optic ribbons, lateral geniculate ganglia, optic radiations or cerebral visual cortex.<\/p><p>The <strong>visual field<\/strong> is a decisive <strong>examination<\/strong> in the <strong>diagnosis and follow-up of neuro-ophthalmologic patients<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The <strong>campimetric defect pattern<\/strong> orients and, in many occasions, <strong>allows to identify<\/strong> the location of a <strong>lesion at brain level<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The methods of campimetric scanning are diverse.<\/p><p>&#8211; <strong>Confrontation campimetry<\/strong> is a simple method that can be used in a doctor&#8217;s office or at the patient&#8217;s bedside without any instrumentation.<\/p><p>&#8211; The <strong>instrumental methods<\/strong> most commonly used in daily practice are <strong>kinetic<\/strong>, with the tangent screen or the Goldmann campimeter, and <strong>static,<\/strong> with computerized
