muscles and enlargement of the orbital fat.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"clearfix\"><p>It causes <strong>fusiform enlargement of the extraocular muscles<\/strong>, which is usually bilateral and occasionally symmetrical.<\/p><p>It may occur in the <strong>absence of symptoms<\/strong> or <strong>previous history of thyroid disease<\/strong> and even with <strong>normal thyroid studies<\/strong>.<\/p><p>It may occur in association with <strong>systemic hyperthyroidism<\/strong>, <strong>primary hypothyroidism<\/strong>, <strong>Hashimoto&#8217;s thyroiditis<\/strong> and
