class=\"clearfix\"><p>Medical or psychiatric disorders or shift work are risk factors that can lead to insomnia.<\/p><p>Most subjects with insomnia have a <strong>psychiatric pathology<\/strong> (usually anxiety or depression) or a history of <strong>substance abuse,<\/strong> although neurological diseases such as <strong>Parkinson&#8217;s disease<\/strong>, <strong>dementia<\/strong> or <strong>epilepsy<\/strong> also cause difficulty sleeping.<\/p><p>Other <strong>chronic diseases<\/strong> that manifest with pain (e.g., fibromyalgia), itching, dyspnea (respiratory distress that may exist in asthmatic subjects, with chronic bronchitis and other respiratory diseases), gastroesophageal reflux or have nocturnal symptoms (e.g., nocturia, characteristic of prostatic hypertrophy) are frequent causes of insomnia.<\/p><p>In addition, most <strong>primary sleep disorders<\/strong> (sleep apnea syndrome, restless legs syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, etc.) involve <strong>difficulty sleeping<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><p> <\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46a541b elementor-align-center
