These days, June 3 and 4, the Epilepsy Unit Team is immersed in a new edition of the Course on Prolonged Video EEG Monitoring in epilepsy (VI Course on Video EEG Monitoring). This is the fifth edition of a course that is always very well received. <\/p>\n\n
A course aimed at neurologists, neuropediatricians, and neurophysiologists, interested in epilepsy, and seeking to broaden their knowledge in clinical and neurophysiological diagnosis. <\/p>\n\n
Given the current health situation, and as was the case in last year’s editions, the course is held virtually, without losing its focus, seeking to ensure that participants have an active presence. <\/p>\n\n
Through lectures and clinical cases, presented in a dynamic and practical way, to present the technical aspects of electroencephalography, semiology and EEG of focal and generalized epilepsies, diagnosis of status epilepticus and related conditions, pre-surgical evaluation, stereo-electroencephalography and surgery results.<\/p>\n\n
Participants receive the lectures beforehand to listen to them and at the end of the course they can answer a series of questions on the topics covered. <\/p>\n\n
Two virtual sessions, on June 3 and 4, where all the lectures will be reviewed and any doubts that participants may have will be answered. <\/p>\n\n
On June 10, a second session will be held, dividing the attendees into two groups, with real clinical cases. On this day, a platform will be available to show the screen of the EEG video equipment and magnetic resonance images, facilitating an interactive participation in the review of cases, the diagnostic process and in the usual clinical practice. <\/p>\n\n
The course is taught by members of the Epilepsy Unit of the Neurology Service of the Ruber Internacional Hospital. <\/p>\n\n
