We consider\nthat HO exists when we observe a drop in systolic BP of at least 20 mm\nHg or in diastolic BP of at least 10 mg after standing for\n3 minutes<a href=\"#_edn1\">[i].<\/a> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HO can cause different symptoms\nincluding dizziness, unsteadiness, weakness, tiredness, lightheadedness, headache\n, feeling of impending fainting and loss of consciousness.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Parkinson&#8217;s disease (PD), alterations of the autonomic system can\nappear that can cause disorders of the\nAT<a href=\"#_edn2\">[ii]<\/a>.\nDifferent drugs used for the treatment of PD can also be\ncause of HO (e.g. levodopa, rasagiline, dopaminergic agonists).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a prospective study of 185\nPD patients, HO was found in 65.4% of cases<a href=\"#_edn3\">[iii]<\/a>.\nThese data suggest the need to be active in the\ndetection and treatment of HO in PD patients.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">References:  <\/p>\n<p>[Freeman R.
