“My name is Isabel Rábago, I am a physician specialized in internal medicine and a yoga teacher specialized in yoga adapted to different types of diseases.
“Adapted Yoga Program”.
In our “Adapted Yoga Program” we use yoga techniques to try to improve the quality of life of people living with different types of neurological diseases.
These techniques consist of the realization of:
- postures and movements
- breathing regulation exercises
- relaxation and meditation exercises.
All this from the perspective of mindfulness and non-judgmental observation (or “mindfulness”).
Through the regular practice of these techniques it is possible to obtain benefits at a physical level, such as improvements in mobility, pain control or fatigue. And also benefits at a mental level in terms of stress management, anxiety and depressive symptoms. The combination of physical and mental benefits can translate into a perception of a better quality of life and a greater sense of well-being.
The main objective of learning these techniques is to provide people with tools to help them better manage their symptoms and improve their experience of the disease. These tools are useful for any healthy person, and can be useful in almost any type of disease, but they are especially useful in chronic diseases in which the person has to deal day by day with a multitude of symptoms and their impact on the quality of life.
Our “Adapted Yoga Program” is aimed at anyone who lives with a neurological disease and needs or wants an individualized and adapted attention, either due to mobility limitations or any other cause. In short, even if you can’t even get out of your chair, you can do this yoga program.”
