Ataxia
It is the medical term for a movement disorder characterized by poor coordination, which can affect both arms and legs or even swallowing.
The origin can be either hereditary (e.g. ataxia-telangiectasia) or acquired due to brain lesions (transient or permanent) affecting the movement control pathways (mainly cerebellum).
An everyday example of ataxia is the incoordination caused by alcohol.
