Cerebral vascular malformation is a group of anomalous vessels located in the brain.

There are several types: capillary telangiectasias, cavernous angiomas, venous angiomas, arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulas.

The most frequent are venous angiomas (67%) and arteriovenous malformations ( 15%).

Telangiectasias and venous angiomas usually have no symptoms while arteriovenous malformations have a higher risk of rupture, causing cerebral hemorrhage. (See definition of cavernous angioma).
