Cervicobrachialgia

Cervicobrachialgia is a cervical pain that radiates to the arm on the same side.

Causes include injuries to the cervical spinal cord (tumors or syringomyelia), nerve roots (herniated disc, cervical osteoarthritis), brachial plexus and peripheral nerves, and osteoarticular injuries, affecting the cervical spine (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylopoietic spondylitis, whiplash) or the muscles, tendons and joints of the arm (rotator cuff rupture, bicipital tendonitis, scapulohumeral periarthritis).

Cervical disc herniation and osteoarticular injuries are the most frequent causes.

The clinical history (form of onset, quality and location of pain, associated symptoms such as loss of strength or sensation in the arm) and physical examination are essential for a correct diagnosis of the cause.
