Lumbosacral plexus diseases

Lumbosacral injuries are those injuries that affect the nerves at the level of the lumbar or sacral vertebrae (pelvis or waist). They produce paralysis, pain, sphincter control disorders, sexual dysfunction, etc., all this produced by theaffectation of the nerve roots that come out of the spinal cord at the level of the lumbar vertebrae 2, 3 and 4 and if it is sacral plexus, the lumbar vertebrae 5 and the sacral vertebrae 1, 2 and 3.

The causes of this type of lesions can be very varied: trauma, complications after abdominal surgery, gynecological or tumor surgery, etc.
