Online cognitive stimulation

OWN RESOURCES

In the Neurology Service of the Ruber Internacional Hospital, we have two computer-based cognitive stimulation platforms(NEURONUP and GNPT), from which a personalized stimulation program can be designed with daily monitoring to promote cognitive functions such as attention, memory, language, executive functions and others.

At first, by telephone or video-conference (Skype), the patient’s situation is assessed. Subsequently, a personalized program is proposed, and an online follow-up is carried out by a neuropsychologist.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

On the Internet there is a huge variety of resources that, in this situation, can be very useful, depending on the preferences and hobbies of each person. Here we propose a small part of them:

CULTURE

The Ministry of Culture and Sport proposes #laculturaentucasa. Some of the best cultural centers in the world give free access to their collections and funds.

These proposals range from readings, interviews, movies, theater, music, etc.

We can find links to many of the best museums in the world(El Prado, Guggenheim Venice, Louvre, Malba, Moma, Reina Sofia, Thyssen, Vatican Museums, Uffizi, Archaeological Museum of Athens, British Museum, Hermitage…), the National Library, the Spanish Film Library or the Teatroteca.

For those passionate about opera, there is a channel on YouTube (This is Opera) in which a musician (ex-baritone), among many other things, deals with this world in an original way. A similar channel is This is Art, where the same presenter delves into human emotions through art.

SPORTS

Aerobic exercise has a clinically significant beneficial effect not only on cognitive function, but also on mood. Although it is now more difficult to carry out a physical activity program, it should not be neglected.

A wide range of exercises, videos and online classes can be found on the web.
