Preferential dedication to neuropathies, myopathies and neuromuscular junction diseases.
Dr. Alejandro Horga is a neurologist specializing in neuromuscular diseases. After completing his training as a resident intern at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona, he worked in the Clinical Neuroimmunology Unit and the Neurology Service of the same center until 2010. He then moved to London, UK, to work at the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. At this center he gained extensive clinical and research experience in the area of neuromuscular diseases, including peripheral nerve (neuropathies) and muscle (myopathies) diseases and mitochondrial diseases. While in the UK he also undertook training in nerve conduction studies and electromyography at the Department of Neurophysiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Since 2015 he has been practicing his clinical and research activity in Spain.
