Preferential dedication to functional movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
The Dr. Pareés is a neurologist with extensive training in the area of movement disorders. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2004, she completed her training as a resident physician at the Neurology Department of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in 2009. Subsequently, he specialized in the area of Movement Disorders at the Sobell Department of Motor Neurosciences and Movement Disorders, Institute of Neurology, Queen Square in London, UK. There he gained extensive experience combining clinical activity in movement disorders and botulinum toxin specialist practices including the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease, atypical parkinsonisms, tremor, dystonia, tics, chorea, myoclonias and functional movement disorders, with research activity mainly focused on the study of the pathophysiology of primary dystonia and tremor through the application of electrophysiological techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and accelerometry and functional movement disorders through the study of electrophysiological and psychophysical measures. In 2015 he obtained his PhD degree in Neuroscience from the University College of London. She has more than 40 publications in International Scientific Journals as well as book chapters and serves as a reviewer for several Scientific Journals.
