Shy Drager Syndrome

Old term that together with striato-nigral degeneration and olivo-ponto-cerebellar atrophy has been included within the neurodegenerative disorder multisystem atrophy (MSA).MSA is part of the so-called atypical parkinsonisms, and is characterized by the presence of Parkinson’s disease-like symptoms, as well as urinary dysfunction and autonomic dysfunction (orthostatic hypotension, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction) and cerebellar symptoms.
