After the great reception of the first edition, our team of the Functional Movement Disorders Unit of the Neurology Service of the Ruber Internacional Hospital is organizing the second edition of the Functional Movement Disorders Course for physicians and therapists.
Due to the current health situation, this course will be held in online format.
Functional Movement Disorders Course
Functional movement disorders are one of the main reasons why patients come to a neurological consultation. These movement disorders can cause tremor, general gait disturbances, parkinsonism, ballistic movements or dystonia. In the last decade the approach to these disorders has changed completely.
This course, in its second edition, is aimed at neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists (speech therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists) interested in learning about the latest advances in these disorders.
The course will have a double focus, a theoretical part and a practical part, with videos of real cases.
Objectives of the Functional Movement Disorders Course
- To review the evidence for intervention with physical rehabilitation in these patients.
- Discuss practical aspects of the management of functional movement disorders and the different therapeutic approaches.
- Discuss the role of a multidisciplinary team in functional movement disorders.
- Apply knowledge to practical cases.
- Provide a forum to discuss ideas.
